Erik Bedard will throw a side session tomorrow. If his left hamstring doesn't bother him, he'll make his next start. Otherwise, he'll likely be skipped in the rotation with Monday's open date on the schedule.

The disabled list remains a possibility, but the Orioles have some time available to them before making that call.

Jon Knott is expected to arrive here around 6:10 p.m. local time. He'll mostly be used off the bench.

The Pirates claimed Josh Phelps. Every team had an opportunity to take him, but he has to stay on the major league roster. If he passed through waivers, the Orioles could have sent him to Triple-A Norfolk. That's the only way they were going to take him.

Sample interview with Ramon Hernandez, who came off the disabled list today:

Me: "Are you worried that your timing will be off because you haven't played in a while?"

Hernandez: "I wasn't hitting much when I got hurt."

Here's the lineup:

Brian Roberts - 2B

Melvin Mora - 3B

Nick Markakis - RF

Ramon Hernandez - C

Aubrey Huff - 1B

Jay Payton - CF

Jay Gibbons - LF

Chris Gomez - SS

Daniel Cabrera - P

Interim manager Dave Trembley - at some point I'll just refer to him as "manager" - says he'll start Freddie Bynum at shortstop tomorrow and Gomez on Sunday.

Miguel Tejada sounds like he expects to come off the disabled list in 15 days. That's beyond optimistic. Somebody might have to sit on him on Day 16.
