Paul Bako's second hit, a two-out single in the sixth inning, increased the Orioles' lead to 2-0.

The Cardinals scored once in the bottom half and should have tied the game against Chad Bradford. But Scott Rolen overran second base on Chris Duncan's single and was tagged out before pinch-runner Jolbert Cabrera crossed the plate.

Duncan is 4-for-4 with two homers as a pinch-hitter this spring.

A former manager suggested to me that Cabrera would be the perfect bench player for the Orioles if they need a fourth. Food for thought.

Aubrey Huff had three hits today before Ruddy Yan pinch-ran for him.
