Will 5-yard passes on third-and-8 get you a first down? Sometimes. But not on EVERY third down.

Brian Billick announced today that he'll continue to call plays next season. Then he took a knee with one minute left in the first half of his press conference.
As for the Rodrigo Lopez trade, I'd naturally have preferred that the Orioles received two players that I actually heard of, but this was primarily a salary dump. They weren't going to pay him $4 million or more, after arbitration, to be unhappy in the bullpen. And they wanted some bullpen depth in the minors.
I'm also hearing pretty good things about Jim Miller. And I don't mean the former quarterback.
Funny how we expect Lopez to fetch more in a trade after he lost 18 games, but given today's market, and all the interest in him during the winter meetings, it's understandable.
