Before I type another sentence, I'd like to bid farewell to NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, whose tenure officially ended at 6 a.m.

Now that he has all this extra time on his hands, and a fat bank account, maybe he can build himself a museum.

Jerk.

Is Andre Agassi still serving at match point, or did that thing finally end?

I started cramping up just watching it.

This just in: Greece, with no NBA players on its roster, has upset Team USA, 101-95, in the world championships.

It's either bronze or nothing for the USA, which apparently wanted to prove once again that a team filled with superstars could win gold without being able to shoot or play defense.

Yes, it's the same ol' complaint. Because it's the same ol' result.

Cowboys quarterback Drew Bledsoe left last night's exhibition game because he was woozy.

He was probably just stunned to see Terrell Owens on the field.

Owens caught one pass, from backup Tony Romo, for six yards. Stay tuned for hourly updates on ESPN.

Speaking of the cable sports network, do any readers of this blog actually own an ESPN cell phone?

I hear that Mobile ESPN brings ESPN programming to your ESPN phone.  I saw an advertisement for it on ESPN, while I was reading my latest issue of ESPN The Magazine.

I just wish they'd come out with an ESPN bathroom mirror so I can get my WNBA scores while I'm brushing my teeth.

If I have a son, I'm naming him ESPN, which also is available around the clock. And on your ESPN cell phone.

Severna Park native Mark Teixeira is now 7-for-11 with six homers and 12 RBIs liftetime against Orioles left-hander Bruce Chen.

Memo to Bruce: Please stop pitching to him.

After last night's game, Chen spotted Teixeira in the stadium parking lot and intentionally walked around him.

That's a start.

Erik Bedard, Adam Loewen and Hayden Penn start for the Orioles in their series against Oakland that begins tonight.

In case you missed Jeff Zrebiec's notebook in today's Sun, manager Sam Perlozzo admitted that he's second-guessing himself for having Nick Markakis bunt in the 10th inning of Wednesday's game, after Melvin Mora led off with a single. Markakis popped up against left-hander Ron Mahay.

Perlozzo expected the Rangers to walk Miguel Tejada if Markakis had successfully advanced Mora to second, and noted that his matchup sheet had Jay Gibbons 2-for-2 with two homers against Mahay.

I still don't expect to see Markakis bunting anytime soon. It's just not worth the aggravation.

Aberdeen took the lead last night in the NY-Penn League's wild card race. Billy Rowell went 1-for-3, making him 6-for-15 in four games since joining the IronBirds. Josh Tamba, the Orioles' seventh-round pick in the June draft out of Cypress (Ca.) Junior College, tossed five scoreless innings and lowered his ERA to 2.25.

Notre Dame is going to win the national championship this season. You heard it here first - though I'm sure somebody said the same thing on ESPN.

And if you own an ESPN cell phone, you already know this.
