Help on the way

If the first no-hitter since 2004 was going to be thrown this season, we all knew it would be Marlins rookie Anibal Sanchez.

Who else?

If his manager goes to the mound to scold Sanchez, is it considered an Anibal Lecture?

The Orioles have purchased Brian Burres' contract from Triple-A Ottawa, giving them an extra reliever - and a much-needed lefty - for the final weeks of the season.

Burres, 25, hasn't pitched in the majors. The Giants selected him in the 31st round of the 2000 draft. The Orioles claimed him off waivers in January.

Burres is 42-27 in the minors. As a starter, his 110 strikeouts led Ottawa this season, and he tied for the team lead with 10 wins.

I expect to see at least one Burres jersey in the crowd tomorrow night.
