Who's the No. 1 WR?

At quarterback, it's a no-brainer. Peyton Manning is the top option.

At running back, it's pretty simple. Most think Larry Johnson is No. 1, some have Shaun Alexander and a few sprinkle in LaDainian Tomlinson.

And then there are the wide receivers. If you're a frequent reader of this blog, you know that I've compliled the APR for quarterbacks and running backs earlier. APR stands for average position ranking, and it's a more complex way of saying I looked at five different sources and found the average of where they had players ranked. Again, these aren't our own rankings, but rather a compilation of what other respected sources are saying.

And those sources are saying there is plenty of confusion at the wide receiver position. Take Terry Glenn for instance. He is ranked as high as 14 in one publication and as low as 40 in another. Then there's Brandon Lloyd of the Redskins. In one set of rankings, he is a top-20 wideout. In another, he's not in the top-50.

The lesson? Take Steve Smith and Chad Johnson with your first two picks. Ok, maybe that's not the way to go. You'll have to draw your own conclusions.
