Steve McNair was 13-for-17 last night.

I like that.

He threw for 80 yards.

Um...

I love this quote from rookie punter Sam Koch (pronounced Cook), who appears to have a slight edge over veteran Leo Araguz:

"I'm going to be optimistic about it and say I did [move forward in the competition], but I really can't say."

I think he just did.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays placed Scott Kazmir on the disabled list after last night's game with tightness in his left shoulder, leaving tomorrow's start to J.P. Howell, who will be called up from the minors. Howell is 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA in two starts for the Devil Rays this season.

The Orioles better sweep this series.

Reliever Eddy Rodriguez has cleared waivers - no, seriously - and been outrighted to Triple-A Ottawa, where he was 3-1 with a 1.79 ERA and 12 saves. He posted a 7.20 ERA in nine games with the Orioles.

Rodriguez will take Chris Piersoll's place on the Lynx's roster. Piersoll was put on the temporarily inactive list - which also should include the entire Ravens rushing attack - after going 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA in 40 games.
