I'm just wondering why it's taking my 13-year-old approximately 47 minutes to shower? Maybe it's all the hair and facial products that line my tub like some sort of carnival shooting gallery.

Almost makes me miss the days when I had to drag her into the bathroom and threaten to take away her Backstreet Boys CD if she didn't bathe.

Reliever Tim Byrdak returned to Camden Yards today after pitching one inning in Aberdeen last night. He'll have a bullpen session tomorrow before reporting to Double-A Bowie to continue his injury rehab assignnment.

Byrdak, on the disabled list after having bone chips removed from his left elbow, described last night's appearance as "tiring."

"I haven't been out there for so long, I didn't realize how much it took out of you, throwing an inning in a baseball game. But it felt good," he said. "This is the first time the whole year that I could get extension on my fastball."

Byrdak is hopeful that he'll rejoin the Orioles for good within the next few weeks.

As for Hayden Penn, he remains at Triple-A Ottawa and is trying to get back into shape after the layoff following his appendectomy.
