One game into his "comeback" with the San Diego Surf Dawgs, it appears that Jose Canseco needs a change of scenery.

Also, in case you missed it, a knee injury will keep Manny Ramirez from playing in the All-Star Game. He was voted in as a starter.

And White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen continues to insist that he won't name Jose Contreras as the American League's starting pitcher. I'm sure Guillen, after that sensitivity training, offered to give Contreras a hug.

I guess Curt Schilling gets the assignment.

Oh wait...nevermind.

I read today where Sun columnist Rick Maese is giving up ESPN for a month.

I suppose that I could also make the ultimate sacrifice and give up scrambled Cinemax.

It doesn't matter who wins tonight's World Cup match between France and Portugal. I'm still picking Italy to win it all. And still wondering how Brazil lost.

The Detroit Pistons reportedly have reached agreement on a contract with free-agent center Nazr Mohammed after losing Ben Wallace to the Chicago Bulls. Hardly sounds like a fair trade to me.

I'm sure you've heard about this sort of thing happening many times before, but the Bulls mascot, dressed in his full costume, was charged with attacking an off-duty police officer after driving a mini-motorcycle through an outdoor festival in Chicago.

Benny the Bull was charged with misdemeanor battery and driving within a parkway.

Instead of Court TV, Benny's hearing will be aired on a segment of "When Animals Attack."

The Phillies placed former Orioles catcher Sal Fasano on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his left knee.

(Here's where I dust off an old joke. Get ready for it. And please forgive me:)

Meanwhile, the Orioles were denied permission by Major League Baseball to place pitcher Rodrigo Lopez on the 15-day disabled list with an inflamed ERA.

Enjoy your day.
