Before I head to Camden Yards, I just want to make sure I have this Brewers-Rangers trade straight.

The Rangers pick up Carlos Lee AND the Brewers' minor league Player of the Year in 2005, outfielder Nelson Cruz, who happens to be batting .302 with 22 doubles, 20 homers, 73 RBIs and 17 stolen bases this season at Triple-A Nashville.

They only give up reliever Francisco Cordero, who was replaced as their closer this season, Laynce Nix, who hit .094 in nine April games before being optioned, and Kevin Mench, who homered in seven straight games but has only 12.

OK, just checking.

The Rangers might be renting Lee for two months. They also might have landed the player who gets them back into the postseason after a long drought.

Good move.
