Slumping Ramon

Ramon Hernandez walked in his first at-bat tonight, leaving him 0-for-23 since a second-inning single June 13 in Toronto.

The cleanup hitter in 11 games, Hernandez batted eighth last night. He moved up to sixth tonight against Marlins left-hander Scott Olsen.

"I'm just trying to get him going again," manager Sam Perlozzo said. "As soon as he starts hitting again, he's going to pop back up where he belongs. I'm just trying to take a little pressure off him.

"He's still got 49 RBIs for us. I still feel good about him going to the plate."

Perlozzo wouldn't feel that way if he knew Hernandez was my fantasy league catcher.

Pitchers Pedro Beato (supplemental pick) and Zach Britton (third round) are attending tonight's game after signing with the Orioles. The club has locked up 16 of its 51 selections, including 14 of the top 24.

Still waiting on top pick Billy Rowell.

Tomorrow's game against the Washington Nationals is close to being a sellout, but good seats remain on Saturday and Sunday.

Don't forget that Saturday's game begins at 4:35 p.m., instead of 1:20 p.m. as originally listed.

Then again, looking at the weather forecast, it might start around midnight.
