The tarp is still on the field, but the rain is pretty much reduced to a drizzle. Did I mention that it's cold? One writer is wearing a ski cap. Not wanting to mess up my hair, I just went with a fleece underneath a long coat. If I could type with mittens, I'd grab a pair.
For those of you wondering what David Newhan has to do to earn a start, the answer is to remain patient for one more day. Barring a rainout, Newhan is slated to bat leadoff and start in right field tomorrow against knuckleballer Tim Wakefield.
In the current edition of Orioles Magazine, players are asked to name the scariest movie they've ever seen. Miguel Tejada chose Major League II, "because those actors look like they've never played baseball."
Here's the Red Sox lineup:
Coco Crisp - CF
Mark Loretta - 2B
David Oritz - DH
Manny Ramirez - LF
Jason Varitek - C
Mike Lowell - 3B
Kevin Youkilis - 1B
Wily Mo Pena - RF
Alex Gonzalez - SS
And pitching: Curt Schilling
The Orioles just confirmed that the game will be delayed, but they're unable to give an approximate starting time. They're starting to peel the tarp off the field. Hopefully, this time, it isn't to drain off the water.
