Shortstop Miguel Tejada appeared to tweak his left knee while going to his right to field a ground ball during batting practice. He walked gingerly back to his position, while Chris Gomez checked on him, and was flexing the leg and reaching behind his knee.
Tejada took a few more grounders, moving very carefully in the process, before heading to first base and standing behind the protective screen. Then he went to the cage, picked up his bat, shook hands with Seattle pitcher Jamie Moyer and motioned to his knee, and went into the clubhouse without taking any swings.
Later, head trainer Richie Bancells spoke with manager Sam Perlozzo on the field. Maybe they were discussing the weather. More likely, the subject was Tejada.
So far, no lineup change has been made, but stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the Orioles did, indeed, activate Todd Williams from the disabled list and sent down Chris Britton.
