The Orioles pounded out 21 hits to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals, 12-8. Andy Tracy homered for the second time in two days, this time launching a ball over the center field fence. Sendy Rleal gave up a run in the ninth to account for the final margin.

Nick Markakis batted again in the eighth inning and doubled to left field. He's reached base 10 times in 11 plate appearances. This is getting absurd.

"Let's just say he's certainly up to the competition that he's faced so far," manager Sam Perlozzo said.

Markakis scored on Val Majewski's double, and David Newhan singled to drive in the last run.

Hayden Penn starts for the Orioles tomorrow against the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers. He'll be followed by Brian Finch, Eddy Rodriguez and Vic Darensbourg. Jonathan Papelbon starts for the Red Sox.

I'll be there to keep you updated. To save time, I've already given Markakis two hits and an RBI.
