Several Southwest Airlines flights into and out of Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport were delayed Tuesday while the airline grappled to solve computer network connectivity problems.
The company said trouble originated with a vendor that provides data streams to the airline’s phones and computers. Dozens of customers took to social media Tuesday to report long lines and delayed flights.
Southwest resumed normal operations around 3:45 p.m., according to a statement from BWI.
Hi, Garrett. There is an outage which is affecting computers, check-in, phones, and internet. We are performing manual processes until the issue is resolved. -Jennifer
We don't have a time at the moment, Rob. This is a high priority for us to have this resolved ASAP. As of now flights are not departing from BWI. We're so sorry for the inconvenience this has created for them, and we can't thank your parents enough for their patience. -Linnea
