A former assistant administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency has joined the Annapolis-based Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the organization announced Monday.
Lisa Feldt, a resident of West River, has been appointed vice president for environmental protection and restoration, according to a release.
The group’s president William C. Baker called Feldt “an ideal choice” to lead policy, grassroots and restoration programs.
The most important aspect of that will be work on the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, which was first implemented in 2010. The blueprint includes plans to achieve pollution limit goals and milestones to evaluate progress.
“The Chesapeake Bay is near and dear to my heart and I am honored to contribute to [the foundation’s] efforts to implement the blueprint and restore this national treasure,” Ms. Feldt said in the foundation release.
Feldt has more than 30 years of experience in environmental issues and was previously director of the Department of Environmental Protection in Montgomery County.
Prior to that, she was acting deputy administrator at the federal EPA.
Latest Environment
Monday was her first day with the foundation.
