Possible bird strike prompts Southwest flight to return to BWI

A possible bird strike caused a Southwest Airlines flight to return to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport after takeoff Monday, the airline said.

The pilots of flight 484 to Rhode Island brought the plane back to the gate for inspections, and the 135 passengers and five crew members were put on another plane, Southwest said in a statement. The 47-minute flight arrived at T.F. Green Airport near Providence, R.I., just after 10 a.m., about an hour and a half late.
