Are you donating to the Archdiocese of Baltimore's annual fundraiser? Why or why not?

The Archdiocese of Baltimore has changed the name of its annual fundraising appeal this year from the “Archbishop’s Annual Appeal” to the “Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries.” The name was changed to reflect that the funds will go to day-to-day ministry work instead of any expenses accrued in relation to the priest sex abuse scandal that rocked the church this year.

Are you hesitating to donate this year, or not donating at all, out of concern that the contributions might be used to defray sex abuse-related costs? Or, have you been reassured by the Archdiocese’s explanation of the situation? Share via the form below or by emailing coordinators@baltsun.com.
