Fall Into Science Explore simple science concepts and experiments inspired by children's literature from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20. Ages 3-5 with an adult. Ticket required.


Evening Under the Stars Join the Howard Astronomical League at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, as members point telescopes at the night sky to reveal wonders of the moon and other celestial objects. For families with children 5 and older.

Crafternoon Crafts to celebrate the Howard County Library System's 75th anniversary. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

Chemistry in the Library Hands-on experiments with chemists from the Army Research Laboratory and the American Chemical Society. 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Ages 7 and older; ages 7-8 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.

English conversation class Practice speaking and understanding English in a group setting at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.

East Columbia Library

Teen Advisory Board The panel meets at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, to recommend books, music and movies and plan events. Service learning hours are available for some projects. Ages 11-17. No registration required.

Family movies "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" (PG) at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Free popcorn and drinks.

Yoga for People with Parkinson's The class meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, and encourages correct alignment of the body to build strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and focus. Beginners are welcome. Free. Information: 410-313-7213.

Single Again Changing Focus Single Again, for adults who are separated, widowed or in the process of divorce, provides weekly presentations and small-group discussions in a confidential, comfortable atmosphere.
