Orioles fans, rejoice: BWI adds nonstop flights to Sarasota

Orioles fans can now flock to spring training in Sarasota quicker, thanks to new nonstop service being offered by Allegiant airlines.

Beginning Feb. 22, the Las Vegas-based airline will offer flights on Fridays and Mondays from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. Introductory fares for the two-hour-40-minute flights are being offered as low as $57 one-way, with a top price of $265.

Allegiant is the only airline offering nonstop flights between Baltimore and Sarasota.

The Orioles train at Sarasota’s Ed Smith Stadium. The first spring training game of the season there is set for Feb. 23 against the Minnesota Twins.
