The Still Point Spa

If the notions of Acupuncture Happy Hour and outdoor sunset yoga sound intriguing, then Clarksville’s newest spa, The Still Point Spa, is on its way to carving out a niche in Howard County.

These specialties are a couple of the reasons owner Tori Paide considers Still Point to be more than the establishment’s name implies. “We’re called a spa, but really we’re a wellness center. And we’re a unique boutique,” says Paide, a trained acupuncturist who opened Still Point in May with co-owner Marla Peoples, a licensed acupuncturist from Elkridge.

Paide has two other spa locations in Takoma Park. And when she and her husband decided to move to Howard County from Silver Spring, she decided to open a location here.

“Our cornerstone ... is fancy service — not fancy prices. We carefully looked into our competition, and we know we offer quality services at a value price,” she says.

The 2,900-square-foot cedar-wrapped Clarksville location offers acupuncture, eco-makeup, holistic skin care, massage therapy, waxing and more.

If acupuncture is something you have considered, but not yet embraced, Still Point offers an Intro to Acupuncture session. And for acupuncture aficionados, an Acupuncture Happy Hour may be just your cup of tea.

Massages include 30-, 60- and 90-minute sessions, and choices are craniosacral, deep tissue, fertility, hot stone, lymphatic drainage, myofascial, pregnancy and postpartum, shiatsu and more.

The Still Point’s boutique includes many products for the bath and body, makeup, gifts and kits, home décor and sheets.

Owners plan to offer sunset yoga classes and relaxation space on a 16-foot-by-20-foot outdoor deck overlooking half an acre of open green space.
