Music & Arts has been part of Chatham Station shopping center in Ellicott City for more than 20 years, but the shop reintroduced itself back in June with a grand ribbon-cutting and reopening to show off a major remodeling.
The store, which continues to specialize in instrument rentals, music lessons and band and orchestra instrument sales, now boasts a refreshed interior.
The customers' experience played a role in the decision to give the store a makeover, according to David Fuhr, Music & Arts' vice president of retail.
"The store showcases our new design concept with open ceilings, new finishes and a comfortable shopping environment," he stated in a press release. "We're thrilled to share this enhanced experience with the Ellicott City musical community of all skill levels -- there's something for everyone."
Pete Bine, retail marketing manager for the Ellicott City location, notes that the staff members, including manager Darrell Cook, are musicians.
"It creates a high level of trust between our customers and our store employees," he says.
Music & Arts also performs small repairs on-site, depending on parts and staff availability.
