According to Noel Dalton, "kitchens are like fashion -- constantly changing, constantly morphing." And to help Howard County homeowners keep their kitchens outfitted in the latest fashions, Dalton and his business partner, Jeff Myers, have opened Kitchen and Bath Creations.
Setting up shop in Columbia was a strategic move, since the area has what Dalton calls "savvy consumers" and a growing number of aging homes in need of being refurbished. The company can take a well-worn kitchen and help the homeowner choose what's necessary to get it up to speed with what's new and now in home remodeling.
Dalton's shop specializes in eco-friendly cabinetry, including the Smart Cabinetry, Tedd Wood Fine Cabinetry and Executive Cabinetry lines. The products contain wood that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and low in volatile organic compounds (VOC), and they use finishes that reduce indoor air pollutants. Wood alternatives such as bamboo and recycled materials also are available.
In addition to kitchen and bath cabinetry, Kitchen and Bath Creations can help with outfitting interior wall systems, garage storage systems, wine storage systems, outdoor kitchens and even Murphy beds (the ones that pull down from a wall).
"It's unique," Dalton says of Murphy beds, adding that a bed built into a wall can be a budget-wise solution to home renovations in today's economy.
