Jeans! We love ’em; we hate ’em. We can’t get into them; we can’t give them up. Those who are addicted to denim will find a soulmate in Jo Akin, owner of Maple Lawn’s newest designer boutique, Liquid Blue Denim.

Offering trendsetting premium jeans from Los Angeles and Europe for women and men, Liquid Blue Denim aims to find that perfect fit — whether it’s low-rise or high-rise or somewhere in between.

A transplanted Brit, Akin traveled the world as a corporate marketing executive and purchased plenty of denim.

“Jeans are my favorite clothing to wear, and in my travels I learned there’s a whole lot more out there,” she says.

“Denim is very unstandardized. We want to help the customer understand the cuts and fits are as different as the designers themselves,” says Akin, who lives in Fulton.

Hence, the shop’s name.

“We were looking for something that personified a great fit,” says Akin, who runs the store with her niece, Sarah Jones.

Forget denim’s cowboy history. Liquid Blue Denim carries celebrity favorite brands like Hudson, James Jeans, DL1961, Mavi, Raven Denim and many others. The shop also stocks other designer apparel including Superdry and Jungmaven T-shirts, Baroni jewelry, evening bags and TKees sandals.

The boutique offers personal fittings, alterations and even denim repair services.

“Designer denim is quite an investment. We can even make your True Religion jeans into pregnancy jeans,” says Akin.
