Spoke Too Soon

Last Thursday, when I came home from Baltimore County, the knee-high grass at the intersection of Roland Avenue, Ridgewood Road and Cold Spring Lane had been cut. I thought it was a result of a 311 call I'd made earlier that day.

That night, however, as we drove down Roland Avenue to University Parkway, the other patch of tall grass I'd reported, in the 4300 block of Roland Avenue, still stood.

Monday I found out that a good citizen was responsible for cutting down the prairie at the Cold Spring Lane intersection. No wonder the other was still there.

When I called Thursday, the 311 operator told me both patches would be taken care of in 14 days. If the rain keeps up, the island-prairie on the Roland Avenue may be waist-high before city mowers reach it.
