Baltimore Grand Prix is ridiculous

Is everything always about money? In this instance about wished-for income to the city and vendors resulting from a car race ("Downtown Indy-style race nears starting line," May 5). So much for livable cities. Autos screaming by at 190 mph does not conjure up good images of Baltimore. Just think of the noise and the copious exhaust pollution in a city which often has days with air rated as unhealthy.

But I guess that money trumps breathing any day. Any activity that puts additional pollutants into our air that could have been avoided must be viewed negatively by responsible people in government and business. Let's step back from thinking of only money and admit that this idea is ridiculous.
