Winning the Super Bowl didn't do much for the value of the Baltimore Ravens, at least according to Forbes magazine.
The team's now worth $1.22 billion, 6 percent more than last year's $1.16 billion, according to an annual calculation released Wednesday by the business magazine.
While that pushed the franchise, owned by Salisbury graduate and technology staffing entrepreneur Steve Bisciotti, from the 11th most-valuable team in the league to No. 9, the championship season did not result in a significant boost to revenue when compared with other teams.
The Dallas Cowboys, the most valuable team in the league at $2.3 billion, saw 10 percent growth in value, as did the New England Patriots.
The average increase was five percent, thanks largely to a 3.6 percent increase in league revenue delivering $286 million to each team.
The average NFL team is worth $1.17 billion, making it the most valuable league in the world according to Forbes, and teams operate with an average profit margin of 15.4 percent. The owners locked out the players in 2011 during a dispute about how revenue should be divided.
