With the stone streets, historic homes and frightening sounds of college drinkers, Fells is perhaps a perfect Baltimore ghost-tour location. This 90-minute jaunt covers everything from Edgar Allan Poe (for obvious, deadly reasons) to "stomping bootmaker" — is there a scarier type of bootmaker? — Matthew Bennet and some of the "working girls" (wink-wink) of the neighborhood's rough-and-tumble past. Here we Poe again (pardon the pun). At the author's final resting place, Frank the Body Snatcher (yikes?) shares stories of his University of Maryland Medical School work (we're assuming not just horrific student-loan stories), guests walk through the catacombs, creep-tastic music fills the air ... and, well, there's free popcorn and cider! 6-9 p.m. Oct. 31. The granddaddy of city tours offers not only a Fells Point Ghost Walk, but a Fells Point Haunted Pub Walk and a Mount Vernon Ghost Walk Tour — all fun, acclaimed and pretty damn spooky. The group also has a new Baltimore Wicked History Tour (and "wicked pub crawl" options in Fells and Mount Vernon). The pub tours are obviously for ages 21 and older (unless you're dressing up as a completely neglectful guardian this year) and go deep into Fells' "underbelly."
