Jug Bay Wetlands

Volunteers, children and adults, are needed to collect water samples, clear trails, weigh turtles, guide visitors on nature walks, draw maps, lead canoe trips, make posters, seine for fish, host at the Visitor Center on weekends and more. Junior League

Volunteers are needed to work on projects supporting children and families, including the Teen Empowerment and Mentoring Program in conjunction with the Anne Arundel Medical Center's Women's and Children's Division, and the September Back to School Book Bag project, as well as to assist with fundraising, serve on the board of directors, and support other programs and services. Youth mentors

The Department of Human Resources seeks male volunteers to mentor at-risk male youths living in the western and northern parts of the county. Mentors are matched with at-risk youth ages 8-20 in the Child Welfare Program. Social Services

Volunteers are needed October through December for the Department of Social Services' Holiday Sharing program, which matches donors to seniors and/or families in need of Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance. Duties include answering and making phone calls and entering families' wish lists.
