Irish festival

Guiding Eyes for the Blind

Organization needs volunteer raisers to take puppies into their homes for 14-18 months and teach them social skills and manners. In addition to daily work and play with their dogs, raisers attend classes and puppy evaluations. Contact Mary Bradford at 410-960-7427 or mbradford@guidingeyes.org.

Light House Shelter

Volunteers 18 and older are needed for duties associated with the food program, children's program, cleaning and maintenance, office and administration, adult education programs and the overnight homeless program. Pro bono professionals are needed to serve the shelter and its clients with skills such as accounting, medicine, law and carpentry. Hours are flexible, and training is provided. Wildlife center

Volunteers are needed to assist with public educational programs, helping with wildlife surveys and a variety of other tasks at the Patuxent Research Refuge and National Wildlife Visitors Center. The volunteer must complete required training, sign an agreement to be kept on file, and commit to volunteering at the refuge a minimum of eight hours a month for six months.Volunteers must be at least 18 for most positions, although younger volunteers can be considered if they are volunteering with their parent/guardian.
