North Carolina The trip committee is accepting reservations for an excursion April 20-23 to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C. The trip features a visit to the Biltmore Estate's Festival of Flowers, an exhibit of costumes from the British TV series "Downton Abbey" and a tour of Asheville. Cost is $575 per person for double occupancy, $515 for triple occupancy and $485 for four. Fliers are available with more details.

Financial Retirement Workshop A six-week, comprehensive workshop covering all aspects of financial planning to manage retirement income and investment strategies will be held 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesdays through April 1. Attendees will learn key principles of saving and investing, and learn strategies to help manage financial retirement. Emphasis will be placed on the fees, risks, cost and potential abuses of seniors.

Knitting Group meets from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Mondays of each month. All levels of expertise are welcome.

Beginning tap dance An introduction to tap will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays. No experience is needed. The instructor is Vicki Smith. Fee is $40.

Jazz dance Vicki Smith leads a class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays. All levels of experience are welcome. Fee is $40.

Support groups

The Department of Aging and Disabilities has updated a booklet on community support groups. The booklet focuses on groups for caregivers, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement for adults and children, diabetes, brain injury, cancer, stroke, cardiac and pulmonary problems, Parkinson's disease, and bowel and urinary diversions.
