CYSO gala The Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a gala at St. John's College's Key Auditorium in Annapolis. There will be two concerts, at 2 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. The afternoon concert includes preparatory, strings, junior flutes, wind ensemble and concert orchestra with refreshments and raffles beginning at 1 p.m. The evening concert features Irish music with a performance by the Irish acoustic group Lunasa, and the CYSO Symphony Orchestra under the direction of music director Julien Benichou. Doors open at 6 p.m. for refreshments including wine, beer and Irish fare, plus music by the jazz ensemble. Silent auction items will be available as well as chances for a $5,000 travel voucher. Classical concert St. Mary's College presents the student vocal ensemble PING in concert with pianist Brian Ganz at 7:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road. The ensemble will perform the music of Pergolesi, Rachmaninov and Clausen, and others. Ganz will play music by Chopin as well as perform with PING. Oyster roast The fifth annual Annapolis Oyster Roast and Sock Burning will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the Annapolis Maritime Museum, 723 Second St. The event features music by the Eastport Oyster Boys, an oyster-shucking contest and historic skipjack rides.
