Child's play
The Children's Theatre of Annapolis presents "Bugsy Malone Jr." April 17-26 at 1661 Bay Head Road. Production is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the Roaring Twenties, and will feature the talents of more than 30 children. Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are $15, $12 for seniors and children 12 and younger. Summer Garden auditions
Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre will hold open auditions this month for its 50th season, which features the interactive musical "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," the criminal caper "Catch Me If You Can" and other productions. The all-volunteer outdoor theater encourages all performers to try out. Auditions are open to ages 18 and older, and age restrictions may be waived for certain roles. Hall of Fame nominations
The Maryland Senior Citizens Hall of Fame is seeking nominations of Maryland residents, 65 or older, who as active volunteers have made outstanding contributions to improve the lives of others in the community. Nominations will be reviewed and up to 50 qualified nominees will be selected for induction. Operation Paperback
This nonprofit collects used books nationwide and sends them to U.S. troops deployed overseas. Since 1999, more than 1 million books have been shipped to military personnel around the world. Register your bike
The Annapolis Police Department is sponsoring a bicycle registration program. The owner's name, address and phone number and the bike's serial number, manufacturer and color are recorded in the department's database. Registration is available to any Annapolis resident. To schedule an appointment, contact Cpl. Craig Medley at 410-268-9000, ext. 7225, or cemedley@annapolis.gov. Owners must bring their bikes when registering. Neighborhood associations should contact Medley if they want to hold a community registration.
Child care grants
If you are a grandparent or relative, 55 or older, and the primary caregiver for a child 18 or younger, you may be eligible for a grant program offered by the National Family Caregiver Support Program.
