Angella Spinney never imagined herself helping run a window-cleaning business. As a child, she dreaded the chore. But when her husband, Howard, proposed starting a window-cleaning business around 20 years ago, she obliged — so long as she wasn't doing the cleaning.
Decades later, he spearheads the labor and she heads the customer service and behind-the-scenes duties of the company, which cleans the interior and exterior of windows and screens of commercial buildings and residences throughout Maryland, Northern Virginia, Delaware and the outskirts of Pennsylvania.
The name of the Baltimore-based firm, which completes five to seven jobs a day, is self-explanatory: It strives to provide the best and shiniest window cleaning to its customers.
Its secret is just as simple, Spinney said — excellent customer service.
"When we do a job, we want the window cleaner to feel good about the job that he does, as well as the customer. If you love what you do, it will show in your work," Spinney said, adding that they want to give clients the best service money can buy.
"You work hard for your money and you want to see good results," Spinney said. The company does a walk-through before and after the window cleaning. Only once the customer is satisfied does the customer pay, Spinney said.
