Best gallery: Galerie Myrtis

Along with such gems as C. Grimaldis Gallery and Goya Contemporary, Galerie Myrtis enriches Baltimore’s commercial art scene. Founded by Myrtis Bedolla and relocated from Washington nearly a decade ago, this establishment has given that scene extra jolts — particularly from events that showcase artists of color. “To Be Black in White America” last summer was a startling example, filled with works of bold vision — epoxied hoodies, portraits of loss and determination, sculptures referencing historic racism. A compelling, important exhibit.
