Kardone has taken social media by storm once again. His increasingly popular music video "911" is on the verge of breaking the internet, having received stellar reviews and a warm reception from fans and critics alike. From night clubs to house parties, San Antonio based artist's music is everywhere. Having garnered thousands of views and a surge in subscriptions on Youtube, 911 is receiving "likes" and "loves" on Facebook and Instagram with no signs of waning any time soon..
The video is directed by Ethan Maniquis (co-director of the movie "Machete") and has been appreciated by artists of other genres as well. We asked Kardone about how he came up with 911, he said "Music speaks a universal language, and as an artist I just use it as a medium to express myself. I put my heart into my work, because it is what defines me, it's who I am, and there is no greater feeling than being appreciated for what you do".
Kardone's real name is Martell Lord DeRouen, a recording artist, song writer, and model, more popularly known by aforementioned his stage name. Kardone was born in New Iberia, Louisiana. From a very young age he knew that he wanted to pursue music, he happens to come from a musical family after all, being relate to hip-hop sensation Beyonce. Determined to make a name for himself and leave his mark on the industry, he released his debut mix tape, titled "Trunk Bang" in 2016, via Empire Records. His work spoke for itself, and he steadily built a strong reputation over the years that followed.
When asked about his motivations, he said,"I chose this career path because music is what I am most passionate about. So if I can make a living doing what I love to do, as well as inspire and motivate others through the gift of music, then I am fulfilled."
Kardone has worked with some notable names in the industry. He has collaborated with Ray J and Paul Wall on two of his singles as well. 2019 seems to be a promising year for the rap artist, as he signed with Sony Music Entertainment's subsidiary "The Orchard" earlier this year, and is now busy working on his debut album, which is scheduled to release this summer. Kardone is all set to push things to the next level, having brought Isaac Flame (T.I., Young Thug, Rich Gang) and Quality Control's in-house engineer Stephen "Dotcom" Farrow on-board. Spirits are high, and fan expectations too.
While his debut album is on its way, Kardon has released "Magic", the lead single of the album, which is making quite a few waves of its own. Known for his signature style and melodic beats, this rapper is making heads turn, and for all the right reasons. While his music video '911' has left Kardone's fans in a frenzy, he has a number of projects lined up ahead of 2019, and we are certain that there is a lot more to come from this rising rap star.
