This week I continued work on the state of Maryland unclaimed property database. I had to become more familiar with using ftp through the command line, so that I could access the database files and update them with any changes I had made. I learned some basic functions of database management using phpMyAdmin.
After spending some time deciphering error messages about the database, and figuring out how to fix the errors, I was able to clean up the data so that it was in a usable format. We successfully transferred the database onto a live environment and now all that's left to do is clean up some query issues and create a better user interface.
The link to the project was emailed to other team members for feedback, and next week I'll be doing some final touches and getting everything into shape to be published.
