Penske driver Will Power won his series-high seventh pole of the season Saturday with a last-lap surge that beat Chip Ganassi driver Graham Rahal by 8/100ths of a second. Power turned the 2.03-mile course in 1:20.2447 at an average speed of 91.520, while Rahal came in at 1:20.3238 in 91.430 mph.
The performance put Power in the No. 1 starting position for Sunday's IZOD IndyCar's Baltimore Grand Prix. It is also Rahal's first front row starting position since 2009.
Penske drivers Ryan Briscoe and Ganassi driver Dario Franchitti took positions 3 and 4, respectively, while Sebastien Bourdais, qualified fifth for his best start of the season.
The race is schedule to take the green flag Sunday at 2:45 p.m.
