Narmin Al Eethawi, Patterson High School

Narmin Al Eethawi, a teenager from Baghdad, is one of many refugees who have landed in Baltimore's Patterson High School, where she is working to learn English. Her familiy fled Iraq because her father had worked for the Americans and was kidnapped. Now, in the United States, she struggles to make a new life, while still feeling tied to relatives in Baghdad -  and haunted by all that happened there.
