Congratulations!
Your blog or social media account has been nominated in The Baltimore Sun's 2011 Mobbies awards, our third-annual contest highlighting Maryland's most outstanding blogs.
The old Hollywood saying goes, "truly, it's just an honor to be nominated," and that's true for the Mobbies too. Check out this
. You're sure to find new bloggers and social media accounts to follow. We did!
Voting began Monday and will continue until 5 p.m. on Nov. 10. Users are allowed one vote, per category, per day. (Let's keep it clean this year, guys. We know when someone's trying to game the system and will disqualify votes accordingly. Make your mother proud.)
Did you know?
• If you click the "Promote This Blog" link under your blog name/social media account, you can grab a "vote for me" badge.
• Using the #mobbies hashtag will get your tweets promoted on baltimoresun.com.
• Blogs are listed alphabetically this year, instead of by standing. Complete results will be available at the awards party.
Blogger's Choice Email Coming Soon
The popular vote is the traditional way a Mobbies winner is chosen, and that's not changing. But this year, we also want to name a "blogger's choice" winner in each category. You'll get an email soon asking you to vote for
one
other blog or social media account in the categories for which you are nominated. You can't vote for yourself (and please don't just vote for your friends -- unless they really are the best.) We hope that Blogger's Choice can be another way to recognize quality local blogs. (Note: If we haven't contacted you via e-mail yet, we probably don't have your e-mail address. Send it to coordinators@baltsun.com or let @themobbies know.)
Party, Party, Party
Be sure to RSVP to the awards party, which is shaping up to be awesome this year. Magic, Mobbies, mingling -- need we say more? It's an open party, but if you're bringing friends make sure they RSVP too.
.
If you show up in a 20s costume, or decked out red-carpet style, you will get bonus points for #winning.

Good Luck!
