Even as I rejoice for the hometown Baltimore Orioles, I'm depressed by the play of another favorite team, the N.Y. Mets. Another spring filled with hope, another summer of depressing reality.
He has already written a memoir, "Wherever I Wind Up," and has a deal to write three children's books. The New York Times notes that the first book, scheduled for release next fall, will be an adaptation of the memoir that chronicles his "unorthodox athletic career and sensitive subjects including the trauma of sexual abuse he suffered as a child."
Dickey follows in the footsteps of other Mets thinker/pitchers such as Ron Darling, a Yalie who wrote "The Complete Game: Reflections on Baseball, Pitching, and Life on the Mound."
