It's a good day for Mark Sanchez and Victoria Secret models

Good morning and welcome to a fairly sleepy morning on the Internet. Twitter is mostly concerned with heady topics like Happy Hump Day and #ILoveMyPhone, but there are a few news stories bubbling up.

The lovely ladies of the annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show, which aired last night on CBS, are performing well to no one's surprise. Meanwhile, Jets head coach Rex Ryan is standing by his man, deciding to start Mark Sanchez this Sunday. Is it me or is there more quarterback drama than ever this year? Are they priming us for a new quarterback-selecting reality show? I can see it now: The Arm with Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Randall Cunningham and XTina (girl's gotta eat).

Finally, fresh out of the hospital, Bob Dole rolled on to the Senate floor in a wheelchair yesterday to urge lawmakers to support a persons with disabilities treaty. It was moving and heartfelt. And Republicans then proceed to vote against it. In related news, the 2016 GOP platform is expected to come out strongly against cute puppies and cupcakes.

Other loose ends include a viral video of Jay Z riding the Subway with an old lady, more outrage after the NY Post photographed a man seconds before he was killed by a train and -- if reports are correct -- Karl Rove's airtime will be scaled back on Fox News because of his election night hissy fit.

Why: Former Republican Sen. Bob Dole of Kansas appeared on the Senate floor in a wheelchair today, just six days after he was released from the hospital, to make a last minute appeal for senators to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons With Disabilities, but his appearance did not sway enough Republicans to support the treaty. [The Note]

Why: The New York Jets aren't ready to try a "Hail McElroy" just yet. After mulling the most important decision of his head-coaching career, Rex Ryan decided to stick with embattled starting quarterback Mark Sanchez, the team announced Wednesday morning. Backup Greg McElroy, the new fan favorite after rallying the Jets to a 7-6 win over the Arizona Cardinals, will remain on the bench with Tim Tebow -- for now. [ESPN]
