A Towson advertising, marketing and public relations firm said Thursday it plans to move this month to the historic Trentham Mansion in Owings Mills.

Diane Devaney, president of Devaney & Associates Inc., and husband David DeKowski purchased the 135 Village Queen Drive property in May for $1.1 million, according to land records. The 14-person firm, which had leased space in Towson for more than 15 years, expects to move June 26.

Trentham Mansion, named for a school where Rev. Thomas Cradock taught in the 1700s, was converted into offices in the 1980s. It was slated to be auctioned last summer, after the previous owner completed what he said was a more than $1 million restoration of the property, which includes an octagonal bathhouse dating to 1747. The auction was canceled for negotiations with a private buyer.

David DeKowski, president of 135 Village Queen Drive LLC, said he and Devaney first looked at the property late last year and were drawn to its historic character. Sales negotiations began in April.

Devaney & Associates expects to occupy the majority of the roughly 8,000-square-foot space. There are also two additional commercial spaces available for rent.

"Trentham Mansion is an extraordinary space that will allow us to service our clients all around the region while continuing to expand our staff and services," Devaney said in a statement. "We're excited to be moving into a new, one-of-a-kind space that we feel reflects our agency's personality, as well as our growth and success."
