Take a look at the brochures for most wedding venues and, chances are, you'll see the traditional bride and groom. But not at the Four Seasons, located in Baltimore's Harbor East neighborhood. The four-star luxury hotel has some new brochures that include same-sex couples.
"Of course, we were thrilled when Maryland legalized same-sex marriages," says Martha Morningstar, director of catering and conference services at the Four Seasons. "We wanted to make sure we did things greatly and take care of all of our couples."
One of the first orders of business was taking a course at the Gay Wedding Institute in New York, which led to creating marketing material with same-sex couples. So the Four Seasons contacted acclaimed wedding photographer David Hartcorn and new brochures, including a mix of couples, were born.
"It's wonderful to have collateral that truly reflects the city we live in, which is really diverse," says Morningstar. "It truly represents the city we live in and we're really proud of what we're doing here. Our goal, regardless of the event, is to create very memorable and unique experiences for all of our couples."
The brochures are scheduled to be released in September.
