CVS pharmacy, Chick-fil-A and Nalley Fresh will open locations at the Inner Harbor, joining Shake Shack and M&T Bank in a ground floor retail expansion at 400 East Pratt Street, the building's brokerage firm said today.
The office tower's owner started expanding more than a year ago, renovating the lobby and working toward attracting shops and restaurants with outdoor seating.
The landlord sought tenants that would be seen as amenities for office tenants as well as Inner Harbor workers and visitors, said David Leibowits, a partner of PDL Pratt Associates, the building's owner for more than 30 years. The expansion stemmed from an initiative developed by the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore, with support from the city government, to revitalize the north side of Pratt Street.
"PDL Pratt Associates continues to attract top retail tenants that appeal to Downtown Baltimore's growing base of residents and employees, as well as the millions of people who visit here each year," Kirby Fowler, president of the Downtown Partnership, said in the announcement.
The new tenants will help make downtown more diverse and pedestrian friendly, he said. Chick-fil-A will be opening its second city restaurant -- the first opened in The Shops at Canton Crossing. Nalley Fresh, which specializes in salads and wraps, has a downtown eatery at 120 E. Baltimore St.
Construction is nearly complete at the East Pratt tower, brokerage firm Cushman & Wakefield said. Accounting firm Ellin & Tucker will relocate its Baltimore headquarters to the tower, taking the second floor of the expansion and part of the third floor.
