Police in Baltimore County are warning of a phone scam where the caller tells residents they owe property taxes. The call demands the money be sent immediate or a sheriff will be dispatched to pick up the cash. Authorities say one senior homeowner was asked for bank account and routing numbers.

The police advise not giving out account information or mailing in the number. Phone police if the call is suspicious. The non-emergency number is 410-887-2214.
