Upscale consignment shop B'more Betty, which closed in Federal Hill in April after the Baltimore riots, will return to the city next month with a new store in Fells Point.
The shop specializes in buying and selling new and pre-owned designer shoes, handbags and accessories, including labels such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Valentino, Michael Kors, Christian Louboutin, Salvatore Ferragamo and YSL.
Betty, an acronym for "Bringing Exclusive Trends To You," will open Nov. 29 at 1500 Thames Street, filling about 1,200 square feet designed to look like a luxurious closet, landlord Harbor East Management Group said today. The shop will be open Wednesday through Sunday.
Owner Camille Edwards opened another store at National Harbor in May.
The Federal Hill shop in the 1300 block of Light Street never reopened after the April riots when vandals broke in five times in two days and cleaned out all the merchandise -- most of it high-end designer brands, Edwards said.
"It happened the same week I was opening a second location at National Harbor," she said. "I couldn't recover or get everything set up, and I didn't want to go into the same space. They took everything, and I didn't feel comfortable coming back into that particular space."
But she wanted to return to the city, she said.
"I really felt a need to come back where we started," she said. "Our name is B'More Betty."
