Construction has started on the Starbucks that's relocating within Harbor East, and an Annapolis-based jeweler also will join the retail lineup at the waterfront neighborhood east of the Inner Harbor, the project's developer said.
Starbucks had previously said it would move from 635 S. President Street to a much larger, 3,400-square-foot store at 615 S. President St., a neighborhood gateway spot at the intersection with Fleet Street. The former tenant, Talara, closed in February.
Blanca Flor Silver Jewelry will open at 612 S. Exeter St., Harbor East Management Group said in Tuesday's announcement. The retailer has had a store in Annapolis for 22 years.
Blanca Flor was started in 1993 by owner Donna De Garcia, who had lived in Mexico and imported local craftsman's designs to department stores such as Nordstrom. The boutique in Harbor East, which expects to open this month, will also sell housewares and contemporary artwork.
The new Starbucks, opening this summer, will be the city's largest, with seating for 95, including an 18-seat patio along Fleet Street.
