Breakfast is served at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

Here at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, four-time IZOD IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti and two-time champion and Chip Ganassi teammate Scott Dixon had breakfast Friday -- from boxes with their pictures on them.

"This is so cool," Franchitti said, picking up a box of Kellogg's cereal called VROOMS and looking genuinely excited. "when I was a kid, I wanted to be on a cereal box!"

Franchitti, Dixon and Juan Pablo Montoya, the 1999 CART Champion, who now races full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Ganassi, will have their photos on a variety of Kellogg's breakfast foods in celebration of Target's 23rd anniversary in motorsports with Ganassi Racing.

This is one of those things drivers have to do to please sponsors and owners these days and Franchitti and Dixon enjoyed the fun to a point.

"Your hair looks good mate," said Dixon, looking at Franchitti's photo on the box, before dipping his spoon into his bowl.

"I haven't seen yours, yet, let me see," Franchitti said, then when he saw it, added, "Ah, Dixon, you look great."

It seemed a little like a small track promotion in a semi-pro series. And when they were asked to hold up their boxes and give a thumbs-up sign, they drew the line by ignoring the request. They did, however, clean their bowls.

The special boxes will be on sale for a limited time in Target stores nationwide, beginning Aug. 19.
