January: Orioles FanFest, Jan. 28

Every year, FanFest accomplishes a multitude of tasks. In the doldrums of winter, it’s a clear harbinger of spring, a reminder that warmer weather is on the horizon. For O’s fans, it’s a chance to question players and team personnel, and hear about prospects for the coming season. And for those who hold nothing more dear than the sound of bat on ball, it’s a reminder that baseball, in all its glory, will soon be back. So come on down to the Baltimore Convention Center, 1 W. Pratt St., and stock up on Orioles gear, hear from the players and front-office personnel, see what the vendors have to offer, let the kids try out a workshop or two, maybe collect a few autographs. And remember: Orioles Magic is only a couple months away. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (opens at 10 a.m. for season ticket plan holders). $6-$12. orioles.com.
